Details: This 18k gold ring features an exceptional oval dendritic agate with beautiful branch-like patterning. The background of the agate is a bright and pearly white - while the veined traces are charcoal in color creating a stunning contrast. The one-of-a-kind stone has a flat surface and the setting lies low on the hand.
A dendritic agate, often called a picture agate, is a semi-precious chalcedony veined with trace metals or iron ore. The agates form in nodules left behind in ancient volcanic lava rocks and the heat and the pressure over thousands of years causes the formation of beautiful natural-looking tree or snowflake-like patterns in the stone.
Measurement: The ring size is 6 1/2. The stone is about 1 1/16" tall by just under 3/4" wide.
Origin: Handmade in the Hudson Valley, NY.
